The X-Clamp Method
This is another method that has worked for some people. This requires technical skill in working with motherboards and heat sinks. The repair itself is not very complicated. But if you are not used to working with delicate electronic equipment, you might want to purchase a repair guide instead.
So, now that we are comfortable with this method, let's begin.
You will need an x-clamp kit, which you can purchase from Amazon. (I've also listed my top picks below.)
Now that you have your kit, you will need to open your XBox.
Then, you will need to locate the x-clamps.
Now, carefully remove the bolts that hold the x-clamp in place. Be gentle.
Set these aside and carefully remove the heat sink.
Now, put the washers included in the kit on the screws.
Replace the heat sink and the x-clamp.
Very carefully screw them in making sure that all screws have equal pressure.
